Hi all,
this will be the last race for this season !!! But I also want to remind that this race will be driving WITHOUT traction control on the BF1. That only makes a large difference at the very slow left right left part of the circuit. For the rest is the AS5 a very fast circuit where the difference between with or without traction control makes no difference.
Yesterday I practiced a bit and I was only 2 seconds behind a person driving with traction control.
But it needs not to be said that this fast car with not a lot view needs practice to go around fast. Also pay attention that the BF1 is VERY influenced by down force and If you come close to the back wing of the one in front of you, you lose a lot of grip !
This circuit is set on the "b-server".
Have Fun

Wow, you wasn't kidding. I've been attempting some practice laps on the B server, and I'm having quite a bit of trouble in the slow corners because it wants to downshift to 1st gear. When it does that, the rear snaps loose and around I go...drawback of having to use auto tranny. Is there a way to change the gear ratio for 1st or 2nd to keep it from downshifting until it gets to a lower rpm or speed?

The engine compression is so high on first gear, it blocks the rear wheels almost everytime. You can use 1st gear but only if you have the correct low speed.. so not to slow you down.. So stay in 2nd gear on those corners. And to help us all Bluebird has send me a very good setup for this combo and asked to put it on the forum. I also put it on the front page of our website. www.liveforspeed.be/setups/AS5_BF1_r3goodasgp.setGood luck.. but don't drive faster then your angels can fly !!

For the people who did not see it.. There is a second set for the FB1 on, the front page of our website. This one also from Bleubird. Thanks !!
I will not be there to organize a test race this weekend (I'm in France for the F1 Mangy-Cours race). I will try to write the racemail this evening. I hope Sennaboy Xtian will be there to guide you guys.
I can not ask you all enough to organize as much races as you can for this one. The fastest time here in Sywix is not so important. Staying on track is!!! The BF1 is very fast and aggressive and with not a lot to see in front or mirrors !! And is very dependable on down force. So think of that when you are with your noise on the back of the car in front of you.. You need to brake earlier then he does.. Because of less down force you are not able to brake as hard as he does and I don't have to tell you the result. So If you are close to the other try to take another race line so you don't have reduced down force.
Good luck !!!
I also
Cu on track.

Thanks Hanzi.
I tried BB's other setup, but I think I like his first setup better. It feels more stable. I'll try to turn some practice laps online soon.
Have fun at the F1 race !!!

SO, we had a "short" 20 laps race tonight with Scatter and Fast Duck, and I learned a few things about that car: note that I used bb's 1rst set and that our average speed was rather ... poor - 100% Fuel will take you 16 laps, R3 will hold longer than that altho touchy around lap 6 to 8. strategy will play. - sliding will cost time and tyres - what goes wrong will go worse: one mistake and your tires get too hot, you get nervous, try to catch time, get on the grass, lose grip, crash the car, get nervous, try to catch time, tyres too hot etc... - the more speed you have, the more grip you have, so... a- sometimes you struggle to take a turn because you lift the throttle, when faster and with more gas, it will pass. b- you can brutalize the steering at 200 kph, not at 60 kph? c- same with braking, you can stomp the pedal on 6th gear but hardly touch it on 3rd or 2nd d- same with acceleration: for the slow corners, one gear too high will help, and remember than a gas pedal is not on/off and you can either modulate and/or use the abs kind of movement. e- wheels should be in line when braking/ acelerating on slow corner for all these reasons: slow in fast out is the rule - on blue flag, the easiest thing is to slightly lift the throttle on a straight, those cars are so fast, stopping outside the line in a turn could result in a crash (with my poor resolution anyway) - this car has no starter, out of fuel or engine stopped (stalked?) means end of the game. - 40 laps will be VERY long, I recommend an anti drug test on top 3 drivers. ;D

20 laps was a workout, that's for sure. xtian, when you say "stalked" I think you mean "stalled", which means your motor died. I understand what you mean though. I've noticed that I have a blue light on the steering wheel in my car, does that mean TC is off or on? TC is turned off in BB's setup that I'm using. And as easy as I spin the tires the TC sure doesn't act like it's on. cya on the track p.s. Good race guys!!!

To bad only 3 guys where at the start I think the nice weather is part to blame.. by the way Magny-Cours was nice, very nice.. Some pictures will folow !! Cu on track

Ok, Thanks hanzi.
Ya, it was too bad we didn't have more racers at the practice race, but it is summertime for just about everybody.
Hey hanzi, if you need a replay of the practice race I've got it right here. Just give me a holler and I'll arrange to send it to you.

A holler means to give a yell or shout, it's just an expression we say when we want someone to let us know about things. Like when I said to give me a holler...meaning to let me know if you wanted that replay. I'll send the replay to the admin email.

yes,
yesterday evening I finaly made it back to the wheel. Alfter almost 3 weeks of inactivity, it was hard, very hard to climb back into that BF1 without goiing of track. I drove one complete tank of fuel on to the track with a best time of low 2.17. 2 seconds slower then my best sywix time.. I also burned my clutch because I somethimes toke the exit of the slower corners in 4th gear not to spin.. But then the clutch comes in to place.. And started to slip in the high revs. I was able to cool it down again just by lifting the trotthle with up shifting. I
I was able to drive not 16 but 18 laps on 1 full fuel tank. So 2 laps short to make it a 1 stopper race. So I will be a 2 stopper this time, no other option..
Then I tried to do some hot laps.. But I could not improve my best time..
I will be happy to make it to the finish line this sunday !! And of course I'm hoping for a lot of members to come for the last season 2 race !
Tonight I will not be able to practice again. Probably the day after tomorow I will be back on track...
Cu on track, Hanziboy
