...but one off the most beautiful races we had in owe competition so far... Correction one of the beautiful races YOU and 2/8 had so far ... For 5/8 other racers .. It was not such a good race.... so overall I don't think this was a good race.... Indeed next one is an even larger challenge..I hope to keep it on track an collect 2 points for making it until the end...

would you two stop biting each other's nose? so. how about taking decision on the safety car - reset regulation? when I saw J press the safety car message after 5 minutes of race, it brought a tear in my eye. really.

I thought it was a rather good race. Everyone one drove with respect for others, except in situations beyond control. But I too was hoping to make it to the finish, but that last chicane bit me just like it did others. Like I said yesterday, I have to keep telling myself to stop running every lap like a qualifying lap. I was just pushing it too hard trying to shave that extra bit of time trying to set new pb's, and I ran out of talent. But overall, I thought it was a good race.
So xtian, does that mean that you are against the safety car idea or am I mis-reading what you are saying?
The safety car would have kept several of us in the race yesterday, instead of dnf'ing. Me personally, I would like to try using the safety car rule, but I'm afraid it's going to mean that we have a marshall watching to keep things sorted out while we are racing. I could be wrong though. We do need to do a few practice races, so everyone knows what's going on.
Gratz Gnomie, XT, SB
Cya on the track

when I saw J press the safety car message after 5 minutes of race, it brought a tear in my eye. really. I dont think my situation would be a safety car one, because I lay down on my roof, it would be unreal to continue the race. In real life the race would be over, too. But nethertheless I like the idea of the safety car procedure. It brings even more action into a race, especially when one of the drivers has a big gap to the next and so on. The 2nd advantage is of course the idea of continue the race for the crashed car/driver. Thank you X, that you felt sorry for me!

Hi to all. Apologise for not attending the race. I had confirmed that i was going to participate. However, i made a error when checking the start time. I checked the BSR web page and watched the countdown timer. I should have known not to make any mistake as you clearly mark timezone as Brussels. I was really looking forward to racing and had put some time and effort into practice. So again i apologise. I did log on 30 minutes into the race and continued to spectate until the end. Looked like a challenging event. Congratulations to the winner (fantastic Lap times!), 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th places. See you at the next race.

SLO_Scatter: not at all, I just felt SO sorry that he was definitly out of the race so soon after he proven being so fastand trained for so long! @jyeusch: I'm not against the safety car procedure, but it would flatten the differences between cars. I let gnomie pass me at the end because i wans't sure i could do one more lap with my tires. with a safety car, sennaboy would have been too close to me and maybe i wouldn't have been able to finish the race. some you win some you lose ! i forced myself not to try too hard and get excited by the pb's and increasing times to be sure to finish. that's the lesson. constancy pays (and a lot of luck) @rasta: so sorry you could not join us, it was indeed a very exciting race sennaboy: i don't thing anyone blamed you for choosing that combo, as nobody knew you did. most of us just wish they could finsih it. to finish first, first you have to finish as they used to say in the 60's at least nobody was hurt.

Yep, I think the safety car procedure is a good thing, because it keeps more drivers in the race and "resets the score" whenever someone crashes. Let's not forget that ultimately, racing should be fun. And I think most of us agree that close racing with other cars is more fun that driving more or less alone for an hour..!

@ J : yes, indeed that is just the situation I want to use safety car procedure.. I know this is mostly not realistic.. but in some races it is.. Take a look at rally.. Where even the public helps to flip the car back on his wheels. But then they do not have a safety car... Normally indeed we try to be as realistic as we can in the rules.. But the rule that overrules them all is the fun factor. Sennaboy is wrong to tell it was a bad combo.. It was a very good and challenging combo where only a few pro's could survive.. and as Gnomie told ... Even he, as the winner, had a lonely race. On the other hand, we would have had 5 Safety car procedures.. and also that would be a lot I think.. So I don't know what to think anymore about the rule.. Maybe a race like yesterday tells us that, like Scatter says, not to go every lap for that fastest lap.. but hey, where then is the racing in the word race?? On the other hand we always advertise this is a league for beginners and profs.. And with the safety rule we give them a second chance. So I will set a new poll on the web, to know who is pro or against the rule. and even then we try it first on a few test evenings. @rasta: I don't understand it... Normally the time on the website an the count down timer should be the correct time.. can you confirm this or the me which clock is wrong?? compare the clocks with an internet world clock site like this one and the time displayed on the website, and also how much is it wrong ( in hours) www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/@ Scatter, you were indeed a fast man yesterday, the first time you out qualified me and even during the race you we close..so I pushed it more and more unless... Great job

Hi all, ok i take all my words of the litle racereport i wrote down back, it was a bad ass race !!!!!! i was stupid to choose that track and that car;stupid me! sennaboy Not at all SB !!! I actually was liking the fxr on that track more and more every lap. I wasn't real fond of the fxr at first, but after you and others gave me setups to try(and tips on driving the AWD car) I started figuring out how I should be driving that car. You know, when to use some throttle to have the front pull you around a corner, and how much the car could be pushed to the edge of control. In fact, I may use the fxr for the last race of the season. We'll see though. @hanzi: Ya, me out qualifying you shocked me. I guess I got lucky on that lap, plus tires weren't too hot yet. Cya on the track

It's an awesome combo... for experienced daily training racers. Not for racers "like us", if you know what I mean. A FE Club with the FOX, or even FXR would have been much better. Smaller track, easier to learn and practice, a lot of overtaking fun and not so dangerous (yet it also has a nasty chikane and a nasty curb, but only one of each, not one every turn). This race result was very much to be expected.
Same for the next combo, nice car, though the track isn't suited to learn that car, as not many people race at that track. Get something small and fast, like a FBM or FOX on that track, or something "standard and easy", the XFG.
Race 3 has it too: here the track is fine, but the car is the bugger again. Expect the same results as race 1 for race 3.
As I said, the calendar is very nice, but not for us type of racers. Get some smaller and easier tracks and cars who give fun racing, plenty of those around (mostly most popular online public tracks). Or consider using a car class to race with for an entire season, so around halfway season everyone controls the car he or she picked completely.
This is not meant as bad comment or anything, just giving my view.

This is not meant as bad comment or anything, just giving my view. And you may give your opinion off course.. But we have chosed this calender to FORCE you to go one level up in your LFS experience.. I also HATE the RAC , be the question is why??? Well because we are not forced enough to drive with it. I'm sure that with a difficult calender you will get a lot of better results when you drive these tracks with other cars. A strange thing is that , even with difficult combo's, we don't see a lot of people practice during the week, watch the number of laps racers practice online on sywix. Sennaboy was the main builder of this great calender and I back it up all the way !!! I give you all my word that when you practice enough for those races you will come out of it as a much more experienced racer.. But only if you practice enough !!! good luck, and PLEASE if you need help , ask it here, you may ALWAYS alsk for the setups, I have never seen one of our racer NOT sharing his setup. I'm also busy with a program to put on the web site to gather our setups.. Good Luck !! and Practice !!
