Hi,
Just a reminder that I still see a lot of racers that have not completed the minimum of 20 laps.. Please make sure you do so before we race.
Otherwise you will start from the last positions at the start. Because you may not enter the qualif sessions Sunday without having the amount of minimum laps set on te sywix page.
Why do we have this rule?
1ste : If you don't have enough experience with the combo, the chance of messing it up in the first corners is very big. 2de : You collide less with other racers. Destroying there race. 3th : You should have a lot of more fun if you "really" know the combo more. 4th : when you are more on line on the servers, the change of getting a much better setup is realistic.

Hello Racers,
unfortunately I have to tell you, that I can´t participate the 2nd race. On sunday me and my family start our first real vacation after our son was born in 2005. We will go to Mallorca, but not to "Ballermann"-area, but in the north of the island to Alcudia.
I wish you all the best for the 2nd race. Have fun, stay on track, dont touch the wall and other racers and most of all finish!
When I will be back, there is probably no chance to realize my last seasons result, but in spite of that I will try to!
Cu soon on track
J

I wish I could have participated in the race after all the practice I put in. I ran the tracert command to www.liveforspeed.be and it timed out after the 12th hop, which was to v1928.ar0.ba.cph.ngdc.net. I tried it again in the evening and it still timed. I don't know where the 13th node would have been but maybe it's at or near the server, since this didn't happen with Sennaboy's server. Oh well, maybe next time.

too bad you could not race in good conditions. sorry about that...
I'm no expert but did anybody else suffer from bad connection and what could be the cause? If I remember right we did have some disconnecting issues with the other server too (mainly senna and hanzi)

Besides a laggy moment just after T1 in race 2 (which made Hanzi spin) I had no lag. Anyway, the race... (copy&paste SCCC forum and SCCC blog) Race 1: RAC at SO Town 20 laps. Race 2: RAC at SO Town Rev 20 laps. I had some practice at the race 1 combo previous weekend, though in the week I was unable to train further. So I did some quick laps before the qualify started and managed to qualify myself a good second place, though a second behind Gnomie who qualified first. The race started and I truly did horribly. First turn I lost a spot due to being too careful. Second turn I lost spot due to being too fast and going wide and I couldn't find my pace until lap 7. One lap I did 1:30s, other laps I did 1:35s... Anyway, after sometime I was getting in my pace and catched up on Liveforspeed.XT. We had a little accident, XT spun after contact, I wasn't sure if it was my fault or not, it's always hard to say in chicanes, so I decided to just wait and play it fair. However, it was only a few turns delay from execution for XT as I passed him later on in the same lap. I was already 30 seconds behind Gnomie, who was very fast and thus comfortably leading the race. I was 10.4 seconds behind Hanziboy who was second. With 9 laps more to go I figured it would be hard to pass him, but I knew that it was all about concentration and making no mistakes, more than about pure speed. So I drove less agressive, resulting in a faster pace and ... even 4 new pm times, doing in those 20 laps over 1,2 seconds of my PB. Nice, but also too bad if you think at "Maybe I could have been battling for first if I had trained during the week...". Anyway, Hanziboy made some mistakes I think cause suddenly I was only 6 seconds behind. From there on I was graduately faster each lap and could make the pass. A pretty beautiful pass I think, it was in the last turn I moved in deeeper and pure on acceleration speed I passed him. From then on I created a little 2-3 second gap and drove on safety. I believe that Hanzi made another mistake later on and Liveforspeed.be XT made second bring the final result to: 1. Gnomie 2. sccc|GianniC 3. Liveforspeed.be XT Race 2 was on the Rev combo and I really had barely driven there. In the weekend ahead I had done some laps there but it was terribad! Anyway, I qualified 3rd here which was surprisingly good. At the start of the race there was a tiny bit of lag at the exit of turn 1 which made Hanziboy spin fishy away after our cars touched slightly, nobody was in error here it was just bad luck. I lost a spot to Hanziboy but as he crashed I regained it. Meanwhile Liveforspeed.be XT had passed me on the straight leading towards the hairpin. At the exit of the hairpin I was too fast on the pedal and slided a bit off, nearly dropping 4th but I managed to keep the car on the track and staying 3rd. Gnomie was already rushing away doing some new pbs and being clearly 1 second faster than the pack. Meanwhile I was hunting for Liveforspeed.be XT. After a succesful hunt (aided by an error of him) I gained second spot and was able to make a gap between us... In lap 18, I believe, Hanziboy managed to make a comeback and pass Liveforspeed.be XT, who had overheated tyres, and took spot 3. While I was halfway the track in the last lap Gnomie had already won the race, showing his dominance in this race once more. Ending result race 2: 1. Gnomie 2. sccc|GianniC 3. Hanziboy Pictures of Race 2 (forgot to safe replay for Race 1): sccc|GianniC in front of Arnold (place 3 & 4): On board view sccc|GianniC: Side view: Last time under the bridge, on route for 2nd:

great report thanks !!! I busted my suspension early in race 2 reseulting in hasardous handling and overheating tyres. driving alone most of the time my level of concentration fell around ground level (more crash more eat, less control) so Hanzy passed me fairly easily I think our contact in race 1 was strictly race accident (maybe I closed the door too much). you where clearly a lot faster than me anyway so the waiting was very sporty but not really necessary

@slo_knuckles : yes before we had problems with connections to the 500servers. But that was mainly a bad connection for Belgium Telenet (ISP) customers to the UK with some times-outs.. After a lot of complaints to the ISP and 500server..The problem was suddenly solved.. I hope I was a single connection problem yesterday from your region to the UK. Indeed you have not had them earlier this week. The 2 point for finishing the race are yours, even if you could not complete it to the end. giannic.. I think I was third ;D In fact 1,2 and 3 were the same in both races. I will put the replays on the calender, also those of the previous race. And it was pure fun were we were very close and touching each other, but in a mature way , leaving enough space for each other and knowing when someone is beside you or not.. And example for races to follow I think !!

Good qualify for me in the first race. 4th with only 30 laps practise is nice. Unfortunately, I’m not practiced with race setup and fuel.. The car reacted very differently and the mistake arrived so fast. My RAC totally crashed on the roof, race was over :/ I had needed more practice to race correctly with this car. Next time

I don't know where the 13th node would have been but maybe it's at or near the server, since this didn't happen with Sennaboy's server. Oh well, maybe next time. That was a bummer that you couldn't stay connected during the race Knuckles. And it wasn't just you that timed out...I also had my connection time out on me once yesterday. Maybe 500Servers.com still has some issues to iron out. I have the replays if Hans or XT needs them for proof to send to 500Servers. **************************************************** The 1st race wasn't too bad, even though I finished P5. I knew I was no match for the drivers in front of me, so I decided not to destroy the car. Instead, I was aiming at finishing the race in 1 piece. Race 2 (SO5r 20 laps rev) was more difficult. Like Gianni, I didn't have much practice time on this configuration, so I was smacking the walls quite a bit. A lot more than I did during the 1st race. Then about 5 laps from the finish the spring in my joystick broke making it almost impossible for me to drive. So I decided to park myself in a run-off area until the race was over so I wasn't in the way. Then I limped my car across the finish line...P5 again. This car/track combo was difficult, but that's what made it exciting trying to tame that RAC and run decent laps on a twisty/bumpy track. WELL DONE EVERYONE !!! This is turning out to be a challenging and entertaining season. My only hope is that more people show up on race day. Even though that means I might finish farther down the grid, meaning less points. Cya on the track

As you might know, I spend most of my LFS time in the CTRA servers besides this league. Before summer, the CTRA Race 2 server allowed both the TBOs and LRFs (RAC, FZ5 and LX6). Then I almost always chose the RAC, because I think it's such a rewarding and fun car to drive once you get to know it. However it had been a long time since the last time I drove it, so it was really good fun to get back behind the wheel yesterday. It was like revisiting an old friend whom I hadn't seen in a long time. That's what's so good about this league.. we get to drive cars that we have little experience in, or cars that we haven't driven in a long time.

giannic.. I think I was third ;D In fact 1,2 and 3 were the same in both races. I will put the replays on the calender, also those of the previous race. I think Gianni is actually right. I spent most of race 1 stcuk up your bottom (in a very mature way) but seem to remember I managed to pass in the end.

Btw, if our grid continues to be so small, shouldn't we consider changing the point system then, more based on being with 5-7 people instead of 15-20 ?
