Hi! When I got LFS a little over a week ago I also got a Logitech MOMO wheel, which has been great --- until today. All of a sudden the force feedback has become incredibly uneven. When i turn the wheel from lock to lock it's not smooth as it should be, but it's very "rumbly" and jagged. Also there's a nasty whining noise. So now it's completely unusable. I spoke to the store, and they're going to have to send it in to Logitech to check what the problem is. Which means it will probably take several weeks before I can play again. This really sucks.. I've gotten completely hooked on LFS, and now my new hobby is taken away from me. Oh well, I guess it will be even better when I get a functioning wheel back. If Logitech is really nice maybe they'll send me a G25 instead. Maybe not very likely, but still..

Thank you! When I hand it in tomorrow I'll hear what the store has to say, and if they're not cooperative and if they say it will take a long time I'll maybe call Logitech and make them speed things up a little. I'm afraid they'll have to send it to an international Logitech service station or something, and my gut feeling tells me it's going to take a long time.. I'm going crazy without a wheel.. hehe, I only started playing less than two weeks ago, but I've become really addicted. :/ Heck, I might even have to start studying to make the time pass!

OK, today I walked the mile down to the store to hand in the wheel. But when I got there, they said I had to go home and call Logitech Support, in case it was a software issue.. I told the guy at the store that it had worked fine for a week, so I was positive that it was a hardware issue, but he still said I had to call them.. So I carried the wheel home again, called Logitech, explained the situation, and they said to hand it in to the store and ask them to order a replacement, because this was obviously a hardware issue. So now I'm just going to have to wait for a replacement. It shouldn't take too long though, at least shorter than it would if they had to take it in for repairs. There is actually a chance that I'll have the new wheel by the end of the week. At least I got today's workout, carrying 16 kilos three miles.

I'm hoping that they will call me tomorrow so that I get my wheel before the weekend, but I'm not too sure that they will... I want my wheel!

Now it's been three weeks, and I still haven't got my new MOMO. Turns out there are none left in Norway, so they had to order from someplace else, and apparently it's taking time. The guy at the store said he'd call me back tomorrow to give me the latest update. It's really annoying.. the next couple of weeks I'm going to have four final exams at the university, so it would be nice to have some diversion in the afternoon to take my mind off studying a little. Oh well, I guess it will be all the better when I finally get it. EDIT: the store manager called and said the wheel is expected to arrive the day after tomorrow!! ;D That will be good. However, they have already received the G25... so he suggested I buy that instead. I would love to, but I think it's too expensive for me. Besides, the MOMO was more than satisfactory as long as it worked, so I think I'll be good with that.

Hehe, things have changed once again.. I'm now the proud owner of a brand new G25!! The store guy called again and said that he'd received a message that the MOMO couldn't be supplied afterall. So therefore he offered to slice nearly 100$ off the price for a G25 instead, which he already had in store. Naturally I said yes. So I went down there and picked it up, and now I'm slowly getting used to 900 degrees, H-shifter, clutch etc. So far I'm loving it! I guess it will take some time to get used to though, but depending on how much practice I get I'll try to participate in races ASAP. We'll see about that later.

And YES !!!Your patience has payed of !!!!!!! My MOMO Black will move to my son.. And yes...my G25 is also ordered ;D ;D What I really would love to know is how many pleople are using the H-Shifter to shift?? They say with manual clutching you can switch faster then the automatic shift of LFS.. Do you feel the difference?? And there is more the good man from spain is bringing for me.. : 3 new 19" LCD monitors and a Matrox tripple head digital ( www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/th2go/digital/home.php ) The first components for the race cockpit.. ;D Time to practice?? This will be difficult with the new planning... ;D Hope you can manage ? ;D CU on track !!

Wow, triple monitors! That's so awesome! That's quite an upgrade -- three monitors and a G25. So far I'm using 1:1 steering angle (for example, with the XRT, which has 720 degrees in game, I use 720 degrees in Logitech Profiler too for realism). I also use manual clutch with no automatic throttle blip on downshift. H-shifter feels really great! It takes some time to learn how to brake and shift down for corners, though. With the clutch you have to be careful to loosen the clutch pedal slowly, or adding some throttle, to prevent slipping. I'm experimenting with differnent ways of doing this now. Also if you don't fully engage the clutch pedal when shifting, you'll loose a lot of time because it goes into neutral and you have to try again.. but yes, I think it's possible to be quicker with manual shifting than automatic with some practice. So far my laptimes are 3-4 seconds slower than they were with my MOMO (which, on average, were 3-4 seconds slower than where I'd like to be finally..), so I have plenty of work to do yet. But my first experience with the wheel is fantastic! It feels incredibly realistic. You have something to look forward to, Hans! The reason I'm a bit uncertain about the race on Sunday is mainly that my university exam season is starting on Thursday, and then I have four exams in a row, scattered over a few weeks. So I don't have much time to get familiar with my wheel, let alone the car and track combination we're using on Sunday. I'll give it my best shot, and then we'll see.

Woohoo, I just set a new personal best on Aston Historic with the XRT!! After a few laps of in the 3:04's, I finally set 3:03,19. Granted, it was offline, but who cares -- it's still a new pesronal best. So now it's official -- I can drive as good with my G25 with manual gear and clutch as I could with my momo with sequential shifting. That sure felt good! I hope my progress continues!! I know I still have a long way to go, but after all, I've only played LFS for just over two weeks in total.. It's incredibly satisfactory when you nail a corner, shift quickly and accurately, and everything fits. Hanzi, you have something to look forward to when your G25 arrives!
