Hi all,
in or 3th event we had 2 cases of client timeouts... Both racers were doing very fine and so the timeout came on hard!!
What can you do to prevent a timeout??
* Reboot your system SHORT before a race. So you make sure all temporary memory is free!!! * Make sure other network necessary services are turned off. Examples : Microsoft automatic update, updates for the virusscan, MSN, SKYPE * At the left of the clock at the right bottom of your screen make sure you have as less as possible icons there. Quite often you see the icons from Realplayer, winzip, Quicktime, ATI,... PLEASE right click them and chose Quit ore exit.. * For the more advanced users you can further on turn all other not necessary services down ( run services.msc). * pull the pug on your broadband equipment ..modems and routers. * Maybe disable the router and connect 1 on 1 with the modem. * Don't use a wireless connection but make it wired !!!
Then you have a clean system and more stable connection that only use the internet for LFS and chances for a timeout less common.
