As Hanzyboy mentioned in another thread, it is important that everyone know the basic rules of the safety car procedure. The video on the front page shows that really, it's not that difficult.
The main rules are - you crashed and cannot continue the race - you call the safety car - when the first safety car message is displayed, pits are closed - no passing is EVER allowed during safety car - THE LEADER of the race slows down to 30 kph and wait for everybody to catch up. All the other racers catch up (you can go faster than 30 to regroup). - Once in a single line the leader accelerate to 90kmh, all the other follow in a single line and catch up if they must (you can go faster than 90 to stay in touch). pits are open. crashed racer reset once the line passes him. - when green is given, the leader decides when he wants to restart the race, as long as it is close to the start finish line - NO PASSING until you cross the start finish line.
remember than resetting you car in race without calling the safety car means disqualification. admins watch the replays. If you crash during safety car, you cannot rejoin your original position, so watch out when trying to keep those rubber in temperature.
We are discussing the possibility that the safety car would not be called out on the last 2 remaining laps of the race. We could simply use a shortcut key to display a message when the leader enters his last 2 laps. more on this soon (I hope).

As we have a regular turn over of racers, it is important that everyone know what to do if we have a safety car procedure. This is the simple things to do in 3 situations:
1/ YOU CRASHED AND CANNOT CONTINUE RACING - you type "safety car" (please configure a shortcut key, in red) - you wait until all the other car reassemble in a single line - Once everyone passed you in a single line, you reset and rejoin at the back of the line (you should recieve a message telling you when) - NO OVERTAKING !
2/ YOU ARE LEADING THE RACE AND SAFETY CAR IS CALLED - YOU are the safety car - you gradually slow down to 30km (or stop) and WAIT until everyone reassemble behind you in a single line - when everyone is in a single line, you ride at a steady 90 kph. - When green is given you choose when to restart the race, but once you launch the race, keep going and don't brake !
3/ YOU ARE RACING AND SAFETY CAR MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED. - NO MORE OVERTAKING. NEVER ! (except if the car in front of you crashes or go off road) - catch up the car in front of you and stay behind and close to him - If he is one lap up or down, DO NOT OVERTAKE, NEVER ! - cacth up in a close line even if you must drive faster than 30 or 90. - When green is given, NO OVERTAKING before you pass the start/finish line.
4/ PITS safety car called -> pits are closed crashed car reset -> pits are open If you must pit, you must stop and wait at the entry of the pits (speed limit area) and wait until the crashed car reset, then enter pits. After pitting, rejoin at the back of the line, DO NOT OVERTAKE UNDER SAFETY CAR
Thanks !
