Hi all, next event on Kyoto GP Long, with the BF1.. The question is with our without TC.
I drove 10 laps in a row this evening without to much problems.. But you also notice that this is done with race fuel /tires on board. So this does not reflect on fast times..
So if you try to go for that one hot lap, then when crossing that limit it is normal you will lose it sometime... Is this the fault of the TC??? I guess not.. just know were the limit is....
But off course we are here for fun and want to end this race with as much as possible.. So we let you all decide.... Should we use the TC or not??

I don't know what to choose, honest, once you find the groove without TC, i don't see where you need it. However, for 45 laps, its gonna be tough, i just managed 5 laps without messing up, i know i can go longer, but i don't know how much longer, and i did get under 2 min per lap finally lol. I'm slow with slow setup, but i like my setup, its more finding the right speeds for the corners hehe.
I figure if we would use TC, I'd be about 2 secs faster, if not more.

I actually find it more difficult to drive with TC, you never know when traction will come and the engine just kind of stalk. My opinion is that it is just more fun without TC, all you have to do is use a higher gear and don't rev too high when your wheels are not aligned. the race should be around 1h30 (42X2min: 85min) so it's not longer than a regular F1 race. last year we agreed that we would not use TC but allow reset instead.

No reset allowed.. Resetting is for season 4 in combination with The Safety Car procedure... I also think this is a question of practice and don't look to much at sywix or LFS Lapper. Like told before, I'm always practice with race config.. so don't "hunt" for that 1 place to much. To reach it you often have to take a lot of risks.. And sometimes go over the edge.. this does not mean the car is not drivable without TC

I'll try to be there with one goal... burn as much rubber as possible and virtually die from violent causes in a mealstrom of carbon fiber and metal

I'll try to be there as well. I might be a little late, but shouldn't be too much...30 mins or so.
I tried it with TC last night with Yomega(L.J.), and I did worse with TC than I did without TC. If I make it on today, I'll try it without again. I'm just going to be slow. The auto-shift keeps downshifting to 1st gear when I'd rather have it stay in 2nd for slower corners and chicanes. I'll just have to drive more cautious.

adjust the gears a little to compensate for the auto tranny, shorten first and second if you have to.

Still tweaking the gear ratios. Hanzi and Yomega helped me get it to the point of being easier to handle in the slow corners and chicanes. xtian : I'm not sure if I'm going use TC yet or not. If adjusting the 1st gear ratio, so it's not as snappy, works out for me I may not use TC. I'll just have to see what happens. Thanks guys.

Yesterday evening we had a nice "evaluation evening"...
I did 19 laps to put it in the wall after looking to much at the map, I think I will put it out for this race. Taking your eyes of track often results in an off road... It sure has to be a race of pure silence to ..
Reading and driving is almost impossible except on the straight and piece of the oval. I know now R4's cool down to much with the set I use and it will be a 2 stopper.. (minimum) and the TC keeps you more on track...
Cu on track this weekend !!

That is no joke. The BF1 demands absolute concentration, especially for me. One little distraction and you're off the track, or worse, running into another car. Just glancing up at the map or a message could be the difference between finishing or just watching.
So let's be careful out there guys.

and those suspensions, they're fragile too. going back in the pits for repair once you hti the wall can take A LOT of time, given you can get out of the sand first.
