What a race! Lots of really close action going on. Some of the most exciting racing I've had in quite a while! Mumhra, Cramer and I were really really close for like 20 laps, with Wellington not far behind. Thanks to all who were there, and gratz to Cramer for the win. Pity about the disconnection, J.

I can totally agree with Gnomie here. I add a photofinish from the race. You can get it here.. www.savefile.com/files/1981250The first part of the race went very well. From 6th to second where I stayed for a loooong time, fighting with mumbra and especially with Gnomie (who is a very fair racer.. (clap clap) In the last part Gnomie got some room to pass me, but mumbra took advantage of this (well done) and I was fourth..Then after 40 laps mumbra lost concentration, I believe, and i could pass him again. Gnomie went to pit to put more fuel in and suddenly i was 2nd again...then Jyuetsch had his DC (sad!!!) and surprisingly I was first..I couldn´t believe it . 2 laps before the end of the race, Wellington did a mistake and hit mumbra who was trying to overtake me from the ouitside and I got hit too, but was the one had most luck in that sitution. Then suddenly gnomie was there chasing me hard. See the photofinish..he got pretty close well done Gnomie To Hanzi....stop and go ..

Hi All!
It was an amazing race. Pretty close finish, a fatal mistake 2 laps to go and 4 cars fighting for 1st place.
Definitively i´ll be part of this league from now!!
Sorry for the mistake guys! I didnt have the enough attention when the guys broke before the backstraight turn.
See you next race!
Ps: Does anyone have the qualifying replay?
Thanks,
Wellington

I hate jump starts and was so close of giving up. I had the jump start because my chair was not correctly positioned...And to put it correctly I accidentally touched the pedal of the wheel and that was it... I was just fast enough to be in those close fights at the semi front..So I knew after my Stop and go I could never catch up with the guys... So my 3rd position on the start did not make any difference.. I knew I could take knuckles and Scatter, on Rasta I was not even counting, but he had a clutch problem.. and with the unfortunate dc from J I gained another place so I went from 9 to 5th.. Not bad I think and another proof NEVER to give up.!!!
nice race indeed !!! but lost my 3rd place in the standings to Cramer... not because of the jump start, because he was also very fast on this track ..but the jump start made the gap larger then it would have been..
@ knuckles and Scatter Good fight ... took me long time to catch up with you guys !!! @ Rasta ..try not to give up !! When you quit you lose 2 points for sure and if cooled down the clutch, you would be on your way again..not finishing last because of J his disconnect...
Thanks all for being there !!

Yes, good race to those who finished. Gnomie good/brave pass on me early on. I had the pace at the start to maybe finish in 4th. Hanziboy spotted my clutch failure! That happened to me at Westhill rev in the Fox). After qualifying with a decent time my race laps never matched and with the clutch problem an average of 1.49.00 was never going to be good enough. I battled on as much as possible but it was no good from 2nd to 4th to 5th to 6th.... like taking candy from a baby losing my places. It was enjoyable, never thought it would be as the xfg not the fastest motor but really was good. I had to go (leave the house) unfortunately. I was going to leave connection active but was unsure how long i would be. Sorry. It is never nice for other racers when someone disconnects. Nice race WINNNER your consistent. Maybe next race will go better. See you all there.

In the last part Gnomie got some room to pass me, but mumbra took advantage of this (well done) and I was fourth..Then after 40 laps mumbra lost concentration, I believe, and i could pass him again. It's MumHra strange name... i know lol It was a great 3 way battle between us 3. I noticed that i could never pass humbleridderen so i decided to let Gnomie by because he was clearly faster then me. I hoped to be able to sneak by humbleridderen when Gnomie passed him. But that took long. I trailed those 2 cars for several laps untill i got tired of it and repassed Gnomie. That clearly was not a good idea because humbleridderen immediately took 2 seconds on us both. Gnomie repassed me, quickly closed the gap with humbleridderen while it took me several laps to close it and the battle begun again. Finally humbleridderen made a small mistake, Gnomie got by him and i sneaked by as well. Humbleridderen and I collided although i think i let enough space for him to take te turn. It was noone's fault i think, just a close racing incident. And i just wish it was the concentration part.... I just had to back down because i did not have enough fuel. That close battle caused my car to consume just a little bit more then i expected. Halfway through the race i noticed that it was going to be very tight with the fuel i had on board. After aprox 30 laps I did some maths and i noticed that i was 0.6 % short. 10 laps from the end i needed at least 11% to be able to finish the race and i only had 10.4%. From then on i tried to keep my speed and change gears sooner in the hope that that would do the trick but 5 laps from the end i only had 5.2% left and i neededat least 5.5%. Coming into the pits would take to long with 3 cars only a few seconds behind me so i decided to slow down in the hope i would be able to secure 2nd place. Then J disco'ed (bummer man.. you were the fastest by far.. but it's racing, anything can happen. You have to look at it as car failure.. it's a mecanic sport) and the 3 guys behind me closed the gap very rapidly. I could not go any faster if i wanted to finish so i let humbleridderen by and wanted to take his slipstream in the hope that that would reduce the fuel consumption of my car. Then, at the end of the long straight we collided. I think it all started when someone hit me from behind although i have no idea what exactly happened. I should watch the replay lol. I don't blame anyone, it was close racing and everyone was very fair imo. nuts happens, people make mistakes. It was fun. Grats to humbleridderen with a nice victory. I'm just sad i did not add 1% extra fuel in my car. I eventually finished the race with 0.1% left in the tank lol.

Hanziboy spotted my clutch failure! That happened to me at Westhill rev in the Fox). I just checked your driving. In this case, your problem is not the clutch, but that you downshift directly from 5th to 3rd too fast, when braking. This is because you want to use the enginebrake to brake faster. Listen to the engine, when you do it and you can hear it´s spinning too much, which makes damage to the engine. You will start to hear a popcorn sound, which shows that you got a damage to your engine. Then you will start to loose speed. What you gain by braking that way, you will loose in speed later on, so it´s not a good idea You have to change your way of downshifting. Go from 5th to 4th and then 3rd OR go from 5th to 3rd IF you wait to go to 3rd, when the engine is spinning slower. Then you wil not have an engine failure. Listen to the engine!!!! PS. The tough problem you now have with your engine sponsor, it´s your own problem ;D

..........You will start to hear a popcorn sound, which shows that you got a damage to your engine. Then you will start to loose speed........ Also important to know is that a damaged engine is not repaired in the pitlane... a bit normal.. So you have to stick to it for the rest of the race.. I know VERY frustrating .. @ Wellington : you can always find the replay of the qualify and the race in the Calendar page after a few days. Except for canceled races like the ROC

Humbleridderen and I collided although i think i let enough space for him to take te turn. It was noone's fault i think, just a close racing incident. I just watched the replay and i must say that i thought i let more room. I don't think i made a mistake because there was a little room but maybe i should've left a bit more. Then, at the end of the long straight we collided. I think it all started when someone hit me from behind And yep, i was right.. it started when wellington hit me from behind. No problem, nuts happens . I noticed that i braked a bit earlier then everybody else (simply because i did not practise enough probably) so maybe that was the reason that wellington made a small mistake. All part of racing. Grats to humbleridderen with a nice victory. And i must say that again. Normally J. would've won it. And without the fuel problems suffered by Gnomie and me Humbleridderen would never have won it but he did. He kept his head cool for no less then 45 laps. Incredible to stay that calm under so much pressure. He was driving defensive lines throughout the entire race. You must have icewater flowing through your veins instead of blood, Humbleridderen

Thank you Humbleridderen. I am still at a very early stage with LFS and simulators. It is reassuring to hear your words. I have this problem with most cars that i drive FBM FOX XFG. Only FXR do I drive in a more correct manner. I will have to improve my driving skill/technique. I was really enjoying the race Y.day eve. I so disheartening when losing speed happens. In truth I knew it was something that I was doing to car to impair the performance. However, i cannot find an engine management screen in lfs so i cannot see what is happening to the engine. My guess is you don't need an engine management screen if you listen to the engine sound! Humbleridderen thanks again a really important point that you have made me aware of. Next race then! I hope to provide something to write about. Hanziboy, watch out for me in the final race of Season 3. I Can't wait.

You must have icewater flowing through your veins instead of blood, Humbleridderen Well, the accident (lap 28 T1) is surely on my part. Maybe I would have had a chance to keep staying side by side with you in the chikane, if i had jumped over the left curb more than I did. You did all what you could. Thanks for your nice words (Gnomie was also excellent to take care) and you were very clever in your tactical race. I wanted you and Gnomie to race against each other, but you were too clever to do that too much You are right I would only had been fourth if you and Gnomie didn´t have the fuel problems and J. didn´t had his DC. But how I look at it, is, that to win, you have to use experience and skills all together. Skills is not sufficient alone and experience is not sufficient alone too. I used my little experience, (knowing that it´s better to add a little extra fuel) so therefore a second place would be the right place for me, because J. had a DC and he probably couldn´t have done anything about that.

Don't get me wrong. i did not mean to say you only should've finished 4th. Speedwise you would've but you were the smartest (smarter then me and Gnomie since you were the one with enough fuel) and you had a little bit more luck (then J) and therefor you won. Being smart and having a little bit of good luck is all part of racing. You won the race and you deserved it. Nothing to say about that.

I got it right from the beginning. I know it sounds like a defence, what i said, but that was not my intention I just explained my thoughts ;D Have you seen the next killer combo..loooong..3hrs. I wonder if verybody have time for this although I like that we need to have pitstops

I wonder if verybody have time for this although I like that we need to have pitstops about that... Scatter and I decided to team up for that race and share a car on kyoto oval, due to the fact that it is difficult for scatter to race for 3 hrs and that I'd probably asleep around lap 10 anyway I hope it's ok for you guys. we'll see how we deal with qualification / points later. I honestly don't think that the extra pitting we will do will be a major strategic advantage, but it shoud be more fun all in all.
