A new type of racing is knocking on the door. Racing online at home against a real racer with a real car on a real track ... They put sensors and GPS kind of tracking device in the real car. and you can try to beat him in your simulator at home in real time. Also an option to race against him in a recorded race. All this will not come for free off course. But I don't know for the normal offline game.. You can subscribe now to be a beta tester... could be fun to have I think. www.real-timeracing.com/frontpage.aspxI can not yet download the game.

interesting. how do they keep the real driver from driving straight through your car ? That will be indeed the most difficult thing to do.. passing a car (the real one) that is not aware that your passing him !! So you will have to pass him while he is keeping the perfect line.. Guess only overtaking in straight line or after an error of the real car will be the only option. And also if a real car will overtake you.. he will take the perfect line an close the corner on you.. Unless of course they work with a "gost" system. where the cars can drive trough each other. By the way .. could someone already download the game??

first impression... 6/10 Pro : Free for now Rain weather host can set a lot of settings
Contra : low graphical effects. No visual damage, Car does not suffer damage fast. Except rain on window (poor) and the usage of wipers not a lot of rain effects No smoke effects no effects in mirrors. Even less car "feeling" as in Rfactor Bad AI behavior

it IS a beta version. The query asked what kind of payment your prefer, so I guess it is not destined to remain free. (what is?). I'll give it a try later today.

indeed, RTR isn't remotely as realistic as LFS, even if I never drove a Ford GT, I doubt that I could manage a 3rd best lap time at the first attempt in real life (tested in "pro" mode) Still i registered to sunday afternoon's race. It did freeze a couple of time and completely crashed the computer after 10 minutes

Managed to download it after several attempts, seems ok if a bit too arcade like for me. Also It wont seem to recognise the gear paddles on my wheel. Takes too long to load... I love LFS for the fact that after a few seconds of clicking you are on track and driving. I might give it a try on sunday but if its a nice day i will be out on my yamaha instead ;D

well, for what I read, it's nothing like multi player races. You are alone racing against AI's that do mimic the lap times and positions of two of the existing real life racers. This added to unrealistic handling, I wonder if I will not skip it and watch the motoGP race instead...
