Sorry I couldn´t come to the race. I really wanted, but got some important problems just before the race, which didn´t allow me to race

tonight's races were really exciting, that is at least the two first ones. I was on the phone untill a few seconds before qualy so my mind was still wandering and I did some really bad times but it's ok, i hate pole position or front line, makes me just too nervous. I had a close battle with hanzy at the start or the first race, tried to find a way to pass him (those big FZ trucks on that twisty track offer different lines) so after a few laps behind him (3rd) i was confident that I could get faster and tried to exit as fast as possible before the long straight to pass him as he went a little sideways. at the end of the straight I thought "oh well, not this time, too dangerous, i'd better get back behind him" so i looked on my right at him on my side to slow down and let him pass, and there I saw my braking point so i just stepped on the brakes, jumped over the chicane and tried not to hit anyhting and managed to stay in front. i then tried to catch the leader who had gone away while staying safe from the 3rd man (sorry I forgot the names, gonmie and ?...) . bad thing is I could catch the leader on a 50 laps race, good thing is 3rd man was closing down on me as fast as i was on the leader and faster that the both of us. so a second place was more than ok. on second race, starting from the back of the pack, I took advantage of some cars flying around on the first laps, bumped a little into scatter and knuckle (sorry about that) and mysteriously managed to end up second again after a very exciting race again; i'll probably have to watch that replay again a few times. thrid race went not that good. first I wiped Scatter off the track while trying to keep the nose of the car up front, then as I was rushing throught the chicane i had to chose between a certified kill on rasta of a big splash on the wall. I chose the wall but my suspensions did not like it and I had a really hard time for the next few laps. the exact same thing happened again a few laps later and that was the end of all hope for me, i'm glad enough I managed to finish the race and keep a position in front of the united SLO team. a very exciting and fun evening all in all for me. thank you all for the fun and fair racing.

Well, I totally forgot that today's race was the official points race. So I didn't push it as hard as I should have. I still need to watch the replays to see if I need to apologize to anyone. Gratz to the winners !!!

United SLO team? Ha. I was disconnected in the second corner of the third race. Knowing how this usually works, I didn't bother to reconnect. First two races were a blast, however.

I really like the idea of having several shorter races with reversed grids rather than one long one. It makes for a lot more close racing and fighting! Maybe this is something we should do more of in the coming season..? Along with the safety car procedure it could really change things!

I had a really Excited race yesterday evening. Qualified 3rd. Finished 4th in the first race. Finished 4th again in the second race after a lot of contact during that race and always took the blame on me and so waited until everybody from the incident passed me.. And so I ended last after a few laps and had, I think, 12 laps to fight my way back up to the front. I should have ended 5th but a time out from newbie, I thought towzt moved me up a place. The 3rd race was for me the most excited race of my whole LFS Carrier.. After the first corners I managed to be on 3th position. SLo_Knuckles timed out (do so to I thought just before the race). SO in the first lap I ended up 2nd and after a Jyeutsch and passed him to become first. And then it started. Lap after lap a Gnomie in my mirrors with the fastest racer of the track behind him. Lost his name 2 .... Lap after lap Gnomie tried to pass me on the straight ..But I had learned something from the first lap ... Stay on the left on the straight ..I makes it almost impossible for the right guy to pass you. But after a braking error I saw the 2 low flyer's pass me. I could retake 2nd place from gnomie but after a little wide turn I lost it again just before lap 14 so I stayed 3rd. Good race for me, a race I didn't expect to much off because a lack of practice for this combo. Indeed a race with a lot of fair racing Thank you all for being there !! gnomie : indeed those race are equal for a lot of action. Will have more of them in season 4 and indeed after every safety car we will have that same situation.. Although I don't think we would have needed a safety car during this race. Just like previous combo.. Also without a safety car situation.. Should we become better and better racers humbleridderen : to bad... As you could read I was a very nice event yesterday... I hope it will be possible to join us next event. @ Slo_Knuckles and towzt. Maybe read the subject again here on the forum on what to do to prevent time_outs a much as possible. OEPS.. saw now, that subject still was in dutch .. Will post that again under "technical problems" and here it is .. belsimracing.proboards45.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=problems&thread=215

Hey, i had a realy great time yesterday, had to start from pits in race 1 because i forgot to eat, so at 20.20 had my meal, when i came back; the green lights just went on, so i had to wait 10 sec and start from pits; i didn't realy mind that, because i hate 1st turns . managed to get up to 5th place 1 think, and then on the long straight ... i ran out of fuel. Because of my very late meal, i had forgotten to set my fuel. i managed to get back to the pit, and refueled. when i came out of the pit, i saw that i forgot to set my fuel to about 10%, so i only got enough for & lap, and had to come in again next lap. ended up in 9th posistion. quity stupid of me. Start of 2nd race. I was on pole (rev. order off course , i was ready to go, But then i forgot to change my fuel again!!!!!!! went into the pit and started from there. I managed to get in 4th (after passing 3 guys In turn, 4th lap i think) but then, in the 14th lap or so, i timed out. That was because of my stupid ass internet connection, i have wireless internet, wich never was a problem, but now, (because we've digital tv trough DSL) we have to use a modem from our ISP, wich is a huge F#cking piece of sh#t (pardon me my french) I lose connection for a sec every 10 secs, and every now and then, he decides to stop working (like yesterday). I hope i can compete angain the next round, had fun (was my 1st pre arranged race ever ). Thx guys, till next time

Gratz to the winners !!! Sure enough, I need to apologize to Xtian for taking him out in Race 2 on lap 3. I got too far to the left and got a wheel off of the tarmac causing me to spin into Xtain, who was passing at that time. We both spun, but I recovered first and took off. It didn't even occur to me what I had done until I watched the replay. Sorry for not letting you get in front after the spin Xtian. I was a space cadet during the whole race Sunday. I don't know what was wrong, but I couldn't get anything right. Hopefully I'll be more focused during the next race. Cya on the track

I am not sure what you mean by resetting my modem. If I log onto the modem I have the option of Disconnect (which would probably be followed by Connect) or Restart. When I have modem problems, it usually takes me a good 30 minutes to straighten it out and sometime I have to call my ISP for help. I am therefore reluctant to mess with the modem on a race morning. In truth, I race all week with CTRA and never disconnect so I think it is something to do with the server or the link to the server. It may also be my ISP playing around with traffic. I once had them block a route to a BB I use in California. They didn't fix it for a week and after many of their customers complained. Next time I will try once to reconnect and continue racing, but my experience the previous time was that once disconnections start, they just keep happening.
