Hey all,
It still is middle of the winter and in order to make those long cold winter evenings go by a little faster i came up with a small idea.
What about holding a race of champions ?
In real life ROC hosts his anual race of champions. Best racers from around the globe come together to race eachother on a small indoor track with similar cars. This year the event was hosted in Wembley stadium in England. Racers like Michaël Schumacher, Matthias Ekstrom, Travis Pastrana, Heikki Kovalaïnen, ... were present. In previous years we also saw racers like Sebastian Loeb, Carloz Sainz, Scott Speed, Robby Gorden and i think that one year even the great Ayrton Senna entered.
Here you can find the website of ROC 2007 : www.raceofchampions.com/#/21_roc_wembley_highlights/
This is the track layout :
And this is how it looks like in LFS :
Ofcourse you might want to test this offline first. Therefor you have to download the layout. You can download it here : thunderracing.liveforspeed.hu/team/ROC/2007/BL3_ROC2007.zip
Of course you have to put this file on the correct place on you HD. Unzip and put it in your track/layout map in your LFS directory. You can then pick the track by going to Blackwood track and then choose autocross. ROC2007 should be one of the files you can select then.
Because we want everyone at the start line with similar cars we would like to see default setups. I know it's difficult to control that but i'm counting on everyones honousty.
- Each race will last 4 laps. That is approx 2 minutes each race.
- Each race ofcourse is always 1 vs. 1
- 4 cars will be used for this event (always use hard track setup) :
1. The XFGTI (FWD, 1.3 litre 4 cylindre engine which produces 115 BHP)
2. The XRGT Turbo (RWD, 2.0 litre turbocharged 4 cylindre engine which produces 247 BHP)
3. The RB4GT (4WD, 2.0 litre turbocharged 4 cylindre engine which produces 243 BHP)
4. The LX4 (RWD, 1.3 litre 4 cylindre engine which produces 140 BHP)
We need to be with at least 8 in order to make this happen. I suggest keeping this event on a sunday (like normal BSR races) but ofcourse in one of the free weekends. I also would like to keep it as soon as possible to reduce practise time for everyone. The new season begins on january 20th. The weekend before that is jan 13th but that is to soon since it allready is jan 9th i think. So i suggest to hold this event on january 27th.
Please post down below if you are interested in joining us for this event.
