FROM Xtian : I got it right from the beginning. I know it sounds like a defence, what i said, but that was not my intention I just explained my thoughts ;D Have you seen the next killer combo..loooong..3hrs. I wonder if verybody have time for this although I like that we need to have pitstops about that... Scatter and I decided to team up for that race and share a car on kyoto oval, due to the fact that it is difficult for scatter to race for 3 hrs and that I'd probably asleep around lap 10 anyway I hope it's ok for you guys. we'll see how we deal with qualification / points later. I honestly don't think that the extra pitting we will do will be a major strategic advantage, but it shoud be more fun all in all.

FROM hubleridderen :
I think it is too long. I love endurance, but only if we are talking of sharing cars as xtian and Scatter is doing:
How i think it wil be, is that we are 6-8 cars when we start, Then during the first hour, people wil make mistakes and some will leave the race. Maybe we wil be 4 cars after one hour. Should we then drive alone for 2 hours more?
1.5 hours is my proposal.

my thoughts on the next event.. An endurance... is long.. because if it were short then it would not be an endurance Pitstops will for sure be needed due to empty fuel tanks and gone rubber... This time ALSO watch out for the pit entrance !!! It is not like any other race, you can dive in it the very last moment. If we were with 3 members I would for sure allow teams with more then 1 driver.. but if we ar with 10 racers we would only keep 5 cars..and that would really be boring.. For SLO_Scatter we make an exception due to his condition. I think giving up is not a question as long as the car can be driven you mostly can get it back to the pit box. And in a long race like this, you don't know what the future brings and you could be right back with the front of the race. If for some reason we stay with only 4 cars left, we could shorten the race ..This will be told 30 minutes in advanced.. In season 4 we will not have such long races, but they will come back as promotional event. where everybody may join and hoping for a lot of people to join afterwards. Next Sunday is the training session also for 3 hours... But with the Safety car procedure.. I think this will for sure bring the action back sometimes.. ALSO please SLOW down on yellow flag situations !! And NO overtaking !!!! racers not slowing down on yellow will get penalties.. and remember that 20 or 40 second can make a hell of a difference on the final result. The fact that Xtian or SLO_Scatter is watching the race also means they can penalize with drive-trough of stop and go.... (just to prevent Xtian sleeps to mutch )

Hi Hans and co,
what he means is if its not possible to organize the race with team speak or something like that. and indeed maybe hes right, when we can talk and ride.

Hello
I agree with hubleridderen, that 3 hours are to long to hold the concentration on a top level (for me!). So I think I will start with you - no question - but I dont think that I will have a finish after 3 hours, but be finished after maybe max. 2 hours and will wreck or fell to sleep or just switch off. An option for building teams is in my opinion not compatible with the rules, especially with points.

Teamspeak server can be enabled. I have disabled it the last races because I always was there alone talking to myself...

I don't know yet if i'm able to join this race but i have some remarks on the lenght of this thing. 3 hours is long, very long. But just because a race is long does not mean it will be boring. You have to keep the race exciting or otherwise nobody will finish the 3 hours because everybody will fall asleep. It can get very boring when you are driving on your own. The problem with an oval track is that it is very difficult to make up ground once you are a few seconds behind. You can drive for hours 3 secs behind the car in front of you and 3 secs in front of the car behind you. And that is boring. In order to keep it exciting you have to make sure that you have as much close racing as possible. Now how do you do that ? Easy... safety cars. From the moment someone looses control and spins, or crashes, or 2 or more cars are involved in an incident do as irl on ovals... neutralize the race with a safety car so the entire field can come back together. So, when someone has a problem he just types "sc" and the leader slows down. Drives the rest of the lap at at reasonable speed so that the rest of the field can close the gap. The next lap he continues under safetycar regulations so he keeps his speed. From the moment he enters the final turns before the start/finish straight he is allowed to pick up speed. Then the guy that typed "sc" is obligated to perform a drive through penalty or make a pitstop if he wants. That is his decision but that guy must enter the pitlane. This to prevent guys that can't keep up cheating by typing "sc" without any good reason. I think that if you do it like that the race will be fun and although the 3 hours will be long, it will be doable. edit : I just noticed that we can choose between 2 cars. I can understand this because it looks exciting. You will have 2 different strategies. The FZR is a little bit faster but needs more fuel. It looks fun. But.... when you have different strategies you don't have close racing. Imo it's better to take just 1 car and why not the XRR ? Otherwise that car won't ever be used .

is't it the point of endurance races to be *long* ? wouldn't making it shorter be like trying to have a rallye race without dirt ? limiting to only 1 car is only taking so suspens out of the race in my opinion. I agree that it's a pitty there aren't more racer, that is the true problem with this race. maybe as the last race of the season we could insert the safety car procedure ?

I agree that it's a pitty there aren't more racer, that is the true problem with this race. That´s my point too. We are simply too few to fill a long race like this. With an endurance there are 2 important factors. 1. The teams consistancy. 2. A pretty good average speed. To achieve both you need fresh drivers, therefore you have 2-4 drivers for each car. If we want to have an endurance without driver change, 3 hours is very long for 1 driver..even if you compare it to the real Le Mans..and they don´t have kids who you have to put to bed or wifes and kids there to disturb them and they don´t have an office chair to sit in. There are also 40 cars on track at the same time. Here we are talking about less than app. 8 drivers and we are all running the same speed more or less. (very little fights or co-work among cars) Even with a safetycar, I think it could be very lonely out there. That´s why I suggest 1,5 - 2 hours, because this could be sufficient to have a little bit of pit strategy included.

hi all, 2 or 3 hours race? it looks the same you need to pit anyway more than ones. 2 hours = 120 minutes take 40 seconds for a lap and you need minimum 2 pit stops So it looks in my opinion not a bad idea to shorten the race to 2 hours. i suggest to the admins to set a poll on the forum then we can see what the votes bring.Maybe its better organize a vote for everyone. greets sennaboy

@ Pe and Xtian : instead a good race to start the Safety car .... And sure now we will always have 1 admin watching ( Xtian or Scatter). So if they are not driving we can have a real safety car waiting at the end of the pitlane. Will be discussed with the admins. @ humbleridderen : Indeed not a lot of persons, therefore I must repeat to promote us as much as possible if you see other persons come online. And if you race try to do this on our server. You can always put it on the forum (special tread for this) you will race that evening so you probably won't be there alone. And if new drivers join one of the members online should stop and welcome that person and explane what this league is all about , the link to our website, promote season4 etc..
We are good , very good for new drivers, rookies we give everybody a fair chance to join and drive. So there must be a lot of members out there looking for us.
But most of them look in the list where there are drivers .. So if you don't drive on our server, the change you can promote us is impossible..
So in a kind the time you invest on driving on our server and promote the league is also for yourself.. The more racers would do this the more members we would get and so you invest in having more action in future races!!!
I think a lot of you are member because I talked to you the first time you came online..this proves this system works !!
So If you know you will race in the evening. Put it on the forum. So you prob won't be there alone..so not so boring. And if new racers come online ..promote us !!!!
If you would love to have another combo for that evening, than we can also arrange this, although I prefer to let the combo stand on the next event.

SC is indeed the best idea here, i hope t make it that evening, have an ever changing working schedule) i once drove a 14h race with 2 friends on GTR. against ai, and we still had fun (1 driving, the other 2 watching movies and eating pizza ) but 3 hours is do-able (endurance is supposed to be hard on your mind and body) but indeed, i don't have children to put to sleep; 2hours wil also be fun. 2 cars will also be fun, it won't be close racing, but, i always like to see a race where there are different strategies to see who has the best hope you understand my post (it is very late for me, my best friend decided to park his car in a street with his wheel facing to the sky, minor head injury)
