@mum: That's not always true of all American drivers/riders. We have drivers that will let the pacecar pull into the pits while they bring the field to the restart slow, or sometimes faster. And if the leader has done multiple restarts during a race he almost never does the same thing twice when restarting. That keeps the people behind him uncertain about when to hit the gas. I think it's the same with European drivers too. Well.. that shows how much i know about american racing and racers . Like i said before, i don't really keep up with Nascar and Arca and all that stuff. I just watch the occasional race. And every start and restart i can remember all worked smoothly. The field is very close to eachother and most of the time there are no crashes at all. A hughe difference with Europe, that's for sure. Here we have guys like Michael Schumacher who will use every trick in the book just to finish first. Like the one time he braked so hard that there were several crashes in the field. When they asked him why he did it instead of following the safety car he just said (with his smile on his face) : I was warming up my brakes. Don't get me wrong. I was a big fan of him. He was an exceptional racer but man... he could play it dirty, very dirty. And the problem is that most young racers nowadays copy him. Just look at Alonso for example. He is the same dirtbag Schumi was. He learned it from the master well... looks like you admins have some question that have to be answered before the feature race... 1. Who decides when a safety car comes out ? I again watched the race and i saw people even backing up on the track without calling for safety car. There was no danger since nobody was behind them at that time but reversing on an oval track 2. When does the safety car come out ? At every single incident or only at major ones when a car is practically stranded on the track ? 3. How will the qualifying session work ? Like last week or a superpole ? 4. How to react after safety car periods. How will the restart work ? How does the leader have to behave ?

Hello I have missed to follow the forum in the last days and dont be able to read every post, my eyes dont want anymore (now I´m on page 3!!!!!!!!!!)
I like to say something to my race situation with humbleridderen (name copied): I was agreed too after X hit me, so I took back my position because of the reasons Hanzi told on page 2 (I think) and Senna told me in this situation to retake my position, so I was happy that this incident hasn´t an effect on my race. I´m not stupid, so I had the feeling humbleridderen wasn´t in love with my action, but I felt right. But sorry to for this behaviour.
I dont know, if I will read all the 6 pages, so I hope to find the new SC rule sometimes to react right in next difficult situation!
Thanks for reading this
J.

Don't worry Pé, i think if we must stay after the SC and the leader cant slowdown a Little before going again, and give a suprisestart that it will be very easy for the second and the third car to pass the leader. reason the leader can't slipstream. sennaboy well, the SC point is not that make sure that the leader can get away more easily, it's indeed all the opposite. the point is to even the positions and you must consider it like a new start. you wouldn't jump start on lap 1 just on the excuse that you got the fastest qualification time and therefore deserve to go before all the others, would you? same here.

on the other hand I can follow how Sennaboy or other leader would think if , just like last Sunday , or also on one of Scatter's movies.. we have a SC situation a few laps from the end.
knowing Sennaboy was the king of the oval last Sunday.. Konwing he would win this if for sure if there were no incidents involved..
But that is indeed what Nascar racing or oval racing is all about.. You can not compare it like other races.. As said before (don't remember who said it in one of the previous pages) Nascar racing is always a gamble..
And The Leader next Sunday can only pray we will not have one a few laps from the end....

I dont know, if I will read all the 6 pages, so I hope to find the new SC rule sometimes to react right in next difficult situation! Thanks for reading this J. I suppose that you were on Teamspeak with Sennaboy and Hanzi, because I did not get that information, that you were allowed to retake your position. Of couse that is a problem, if all don´t get the same informaton and we aren´t clear about the rules. I could only refer to the rule that passing is not allowed under safetycar, so it was provocing for me to see that you just insisted on being in front of me all the time, when i had seen you lost your position under the safetycarprocedure, because of an accident. I understand, that we have to agree about the future rules, so we know what to do in that case. I still think, that´s it was a wrong decision to let you retake your position, (especially as the field was not informed) because, who can say who´s fault the accidents were? We are in a midle of a race..and someone has to judge, whether it was the one or the other. Its not always possible and could easily be an incorrect decision. I´m not only talking about your case with Xtian, which was not complicated,, but there can be others in the future, which are more complicated. So to make a general rule, which can work, I strongly recommend that if someone, let´s say a "he", are in an accident, whether it´s his fault or not and whether if it´s in the safetycar period or not, he has to accept the position he ended in. In the race, I mean, not in the safetycar period, he also has to accept that he got hit by another. He can´t retake his position suddenly. He has to work his way up again, no matter what! It´s just part of the game!

The password was LFS.be but should reseted to OvaL (with capitals) TS server is only online during practice of official races.

I didn't want to talk during the race, although I could have when I was sitting in the SC. I treat TS like texting, I try not to do either while racing. The server was shut down anyway. But, I have a new headset coming that should provide me with a hands-free way of communicating. No more having to push a key to talk. That doesn't mean I'll start talking during a race though. I have to concentrate just like you guys. And distractions can get you in trouble.

I know in your situation this would mean an advantage. But the moment you start coughing or sneezing or the telephone rings. We would all be disturbed. That is way I mentioned earlier in the TS topic it to enable Push to talk.

True Sennaboy. It is very easy for the 2nd to pass the leader. But it also is very easy for that leader, once he is passed, to take back his 1st place. And that is what we are looking for, not ? Close racing, slipstreaming and lots of overtakings. It actually is very good that you did it the way you did. Now we can discuss this. If you always did it like we are suggesting now this conversation never would've came up. And when raceday comes and someone else is leading the pack he could do it like you did the first time with braking and everything. Now we know up front what is expected of us. no it will not be easy, cold tyres you know,or tyres almost had the best time, so easy? Ok you can say we drive just for fun but everyone will win a race, or am i wrong.And i dont say this for my own but for everyone, on the oval everyone can win;
